Super Yachts.

This summer I have been working at Malcolm Duffin Design in Fife expanding my knowledge in AutoCAD and the occasional site visit. Incredibily I have been introduced to the world of super yacht design.

Untitled-1

This stunning 50m yacht was designed by Mylne Yachts and interiors by Tanith McKenzie at Malcolm Duffin Design. This is without a doubt the biggest project I have ever worked on. Taking inspiration from Malcolm Duffin this Super Yacht was to be sleek and “sexy”. Goodbye wooden veneered walls, make way for polished metal and plastered walls, ceramic tiles and spiralling glass staircases and glass elevator.

The saloon lays at the heart of the super yacht. The architecture of the boat is fused with my stunning interpretation of a modern super yacht.

With a back drop on the rear wall designed in polished nickel with an intricate detail lazar cut into the material showing the amber glass diffusing into the room.

All furniture, fixtures and fittings are bespoke, designed by myself to fit the owners brief and requirements. Luxury leather, polished steel, amber glass and cashmere furnishings are all designed and manufactured and supplied in Scotland to my design.

Polised marble run in a wide stripe from the floor on to the walls with a stunning feature wall constructed in armour coat. The vanity unit follows the same bespoke theme from the bedroom furniture.

Mylne yachts and Malcolm Duffin Design are excited about the prospect of ‘Dream Voyagers’ launch in the coming years and I would be thrilled to return to Malcolm Duffin to see my ideas turn into reality.
